First Post, Thoughts

Hello,

My name is Kyle Milliken. I am going to use this blog to write down my thoughts about various things concerning society and evolution... and don't think that always means for the better!

I would like to start by giving my thoughts towards something i noticed earlier today in a youtube video,

Now, my focus on this video has nothing to do with the context of the video it self but more so a specific feature of what is occurring within the development of the video. There is a feature that many people use to create "speech bubbles" in their videos so that they can write little "comments" that could either come from the author or another character within the video. In the video i have posted particularly, the young man has a plastic looking mold of a human male which includes a lower torso, upper torso and a head. Throughout the video the editor has put "speech bubbles" coming out from this object which are after thoughts which are shown in video to "come from the human torso".

This to me is what is interesting about the video.

What we are seeing here is nothing that needs to be thoroughly dissected and spoken about in deep analytic terms, nor is what we are perceiving something novel. For a human being to project upon an object their own thoughts in a pretend conversation is nothing new! I remember doing this as a child, and frankly i still do it with many objects. However, it is still worth acknowledging that these objects are given resources of our own cognition so that we assume roles for them and do what we can do allow them to act those roles out. This is what is interesting about the video.
